What brings you joy?

December 23, 2019

What brings you joy?

In these last few weeks, I’ve had many new clients. One had my card for a few years and finally called. Another found me on the Internet. She is 84. Another came with a bag full of shoes. Her feet were “killing her” she said, and I wanted to check how those shoes were fitting.

Whatever the reason people find me, it is my joy to talk about feet and shoes, and then provide deep relaxation in these stressful days.

How do I know this is my joy?
Because my spirit is lifted and I feel better in my bones. And grateful.
What brings you joy? What lifts your spirit?
Whatever your answer, that is what I wish more for you now and in this new year.

Want a movie to soothe your heart?

Last weekend a friend and I saw the movie “It’s a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” with actor Tom Hanks as Mr. Rogers. The movie is still with me. Why?

Because it reminds me to slow down and really listen to what is going on. At the beginning of Rogers’ biography by Maxwell King, King gives us one of Fred Rogers’ greatest quotes, a code to live by even: “There are three ways to ultimate success: The first way is to be kind. The second way is to be kind. The third way is to be kind.”

Be kind to yourself
Between today and January 4, you’ll find me in Portland working and open for you: I would love to provide you or someone you love with an hour off during this holiday season. Let me provide a kind, safe, soft place to land and help raise your spirit. Let’s get together soon.
